I’m preparing for this conference at the end of the week and also getting my book dummy ready for a local SCBWI conference in October. As a result, I don’t have much time to draw things that aren’t for that purpose, but I still wanted to post this week.
In fact, I need some help. Writing about a chicken leaves lots of room for puns, but I’m struggling a bit. Would you mind helping out?
I need all the words you can think of related to chickens or almost related to chickens. For example, there’s henhouse, wattle, and nest. I also need sayings and idioms like henpecked, birds of a feather, or don’t count your eggs before they hatch. Bonus points if you can name games or things related to games that also have a chicken/bird pun in them. Right now, all I can think of is badminton because you play with a shuttlecock or birdie. If you think of anything, can you put it in the comments for me?
Any and all suggestions are welcome! Thank you in advance for your coop-eration.
