Yes, somewhere along the lines I too "learned" that one must finish work before playing. Yet, these days, I find that doing something fun first can make me more productive at work, especially work I don't like to do. Something I didn't realize till today is that one of the Ten Commandments actually says to take a rest (and I would include, recreate) once a week (instead of working everyday), so the concept of resting from work goes back a long way... I also like the fact that the word recreate includes the word create, so that must mean creativity is part of rest/refreshment/fun.
